I have just followed my planned workout, but my plan has changed. Why?

It's normal for your TrainAsONE plan to adapt and change, even after you've completed a workout as scheduled. Our AI is constantly working to give you the most effective and safest path to your goals.

Here are the main reasons why you might see a change:

Your Workout Performance

  • Different from planned: You might have run a bit easier or harder than the targets for that specific workout.

  • Unexpected physiological response: Even if you hit your pace or duration targets, other factors like your heart rate might have been higher or lower than the system anticipated.

A Better Plan Was Found

  • TrainAsONE doesn't use a fixed formula. It explores many thousands of potential training combinations each time it builds or adjusts your plan.

  • Sometimes, after your latest workout, the system 'discovers' a significantly better overall plan to help you reach your goals more efficiently or safely.

  • We don't change your plan for tiny improvements because that could be disruptive (e.g., runs suddenly swapping days). Your plan only updates when the newly found option is a noticeably better route for you. However, such tiny improvements will accumulate and then "for no obvious reason" (from your perspective) your plan changes.

Managing Plan Changes

  • Plan Volatility Setting: If you find your plan changes significantly or frequently (this can be more common if you run fewer days per week or incorporate a lot of cross-training), you can adjust the 'Plan Volatility' setting.
  • You'll find this in your Training Settings.
    • This setting controls how much 'better' a new plan needs to be before it replaces your current one. A higher volatility setting means the system will switch to new plans more readily.
    • Understanding Why (Coming Soon!): We're working on providing more specific reasons when your plan changes, initially focusing on how it impacts your race-day performance and injury risk.

    • Sticking with a Previous Plan: If a new plan changes your workouts and you'd prefer to stick with what you had, you always have the option to revert your plan to a previous version.

Our goal is always to provide you with the best possible training journey, and these dynamic adjustments are a key part of that.
