Artemis 2 is the second generation of our Artemis AI training engine. It represents a significant leap forward in making your training plan truly bespoke by using advanced machine learning to understand your unique physiology.
The Main Improvement: Personalised Cardiovascular Modeling
The headline enhancement in Artemis 2 is a ground-breaking approach to heart rate analysis. We have completely moved away from generic, age-based formulas (like "220 minus your age") and traditional heart rate "zones," that treat you as a population average.
Instead, Artemis 2 learns your unique cardiovascular response directly from your running data. It creates a "physiological fingerprint" that is entirely your own. This allows for a much more precise analysis of your effort and fitness, resulting in a training plan that is more finely tuned to you than ever before.
Current Status & How to Join Testing
As of December 2025, Artemis 2 has moved into Open Beta. We invite all users to experience this new technology and help us refine it further before its full official release.
How to switch to Artemis 2
You can activate the new engine at any time through your account settings:
Go to Training Settings.
Locate the Training Algorithm field.
Select Artemis 2 from the dropdown menu.
Note: You do not need to train with a heart rate monitor to benefit from Artemis 2. While the heart rate analysis is a headline feature, the underlying AI improvements benefit every user. If you don't use a heart rate monitor, the system simply uses your pace and other available data to guide and optimise your plan.
