Will TrainAsONE ever use HRV data in the future?
We are committed to providing the most effective, evidence-based training plan possible, and we continuously evaluate new technologies and methodologies, including Heart Rate Variability. The door is certainly not closed to incorporating HRV in the future.
However, our implementation of any new feature is guided by a core principle: it must be proven to make our athletes' training demonstrably better and healthier (and reduce injury risk).
For us to integrate HRV into our planning algorithm, we would need to see two key developments:
**1. Improvements in Data Quality**
A significant improvement in the quality, consistency, and type of data available from third-party consumer devices would be required. The current 'noisy' overnight averages do not meet our standards for precise, daily training prescription. (See: Morning vs. Overnight HRV)
2. Stronger Scientific Consensus
A clearer and more robust consensus in the scientific literature showing that HRV-guided training leads to significant performance advantages over other well-structured training methodologies. (See: Is HRV-guided training scientifically proven?)
As a company driven by data and science, we are always monitoring the landscape. If and when we are confident that incorporating HRV will lead to superior outcomes for our users, we will enthusiastically pursue its development.
