My Garmin watch workouts are not up to date. Why and what can I do?
The Short Answer
If your Garmin watch is showing an outdated workout or doesn't match your TrainAsONE calendar, it means the sync pipeline between Garmin's servers and your device has stalled. While TrainAsONE pushes updates to Garmin after every plan build, there can sometimes be delays in them propagating through to your watch. Use the 'Send workouts' feature on your Services page to try to rectify.
Why does this happen?
When TrainAsONE builds a new plan, it immediately sends the updated workouts to Garmin Connect. However, your watch will only display the new workout once:
- Garmin Connect processes the file.
- The workout is propagated to your Garmin account.
- The workout is pushed to the Garmin Connect app on your phone.
- Your watch syncs with your Garmin Connect app.
Each of the above steps can fail or delay in completing.
How to try to rectify
Trigger a manual push from TrainAsONE
You can force TrainAsONE to resend your entire upcoming schedule to Garmin.
- Go to your TrainAsONE Services page.
- Find your Garmin Connect card.
- Click the 'more' menu icon and select "Send workouts".
Note: Once you've triggered the manual push, don't forget to open the Garmin Connect app on your phone and manually sync your watch to ensure the updated workouts are downloaded. If you have tried the above and your workouts are still not updating after 24 hours†, please don't hesitate to contact our support team for further assistance.
† Please note that while uncommon, propagation delays of up to 48 hours are not unheard of.
