Can I move a scheduled workout to another day?

By Dr. Sean Radford 21st February 2022 (Updated 7th July 2025)

While you can't currently drag and drop a specific workout to a new day, TrainAsONE is designed to automatically adapt to your actual activity.

Here's why a simple 'move' feature isn't in place yet and how the system handles schedule changes:

  • Your Plan is Interconnected: Shifting a workout, like Monday's 30-minute intervals to Tuesday, isn't just a simple swap. Our AI might determine that if you run on Tuesday, a 40-minute session would be more beneficial, or that the type and length of Wednesday's run should then also change. These dynamic adjustments are key to optimising your plan.

  • Future Enhancements: We understand the need for more manual control and are planning to introduce a smart rescheduling feature. This will likely allow you to propose a move and see a preview of how it might affect your surrounding workouts and overall plan, helping you make informed decisions.

  • Adaptability is Key (What to do now): The best approach is to simply run when you can. If you miss a scheduled workout but do it on a different day, or do a different run altogether, TrainAsONE will analyze that activity and automatically adjust your future plan to keep you on the optimal path. This adaptive capability is a core strength of our system.

  • Managing Unavailability: If you know in advance you cannot run on a specific day, please use the option to mark that day as unavailable. TrainAsONE will then intelligently reschedule your workouts around this. (See our FAQ: 'How do I tell TrainAsONE that I cannot run on a specific day?')

  • Reverting Your Plan: If an automatic adjustment doesn't suit you, you can revert to a previous plan version. However, we recommend using this sparingly, as ongoing adaptation generally yields the best long-term training benefits.

In essence, while direct rescheduling isn't available yet, the system is built to respond intelligently to what you actually do, ensuring your plan remains effective.

Future Plan (Smart Move)

We understand that sometimes more manual control is a desirable feature. Consequently, it is on our roadmap to introduce a 'Smart Move' tool. This will allow you to propose moving a workout and see a preview of how that change would affect your surrounding workouts, helping you make a more informed decision.
