What does a recorded injury change in my plan?
Recording an injury or illness does two independent things. It can pause your training until a date you choose, and — whether or not you pause — it constrains what your plan is allowed to ask of you.
The pause is the visible half: no workouts at all until you restart. The constraints are the half that quietly shapes the workouts you do still get, and they are now stated openly rather than left to be guessed at.
What an injury binds
Depending on what you record, TrainAsONE limits your plan to:
- No speed sessions — unless you leave Allow speed sessions ticked.
- No fast assessments — the 3.2km and 6 minute maximal assessments are held back unless you leave Allow fast assessments ticked.
- Runs capped at N minutes — when you set a Maximum run minutes, no run is scheduled longer than that.
- A pace adjustment — when set, every prescribed pace is slowed by a fixed amount per kilometre (Minor, Moderate, Significant or Severe), or replaced with a walking pace for the two walking options.
Anything you leave unset simply does not bind: an injury with only a maximum run time, for example, still allows speed sessions.
Where the constraints are shown
The same bindings are stated in three places, always naming what is actually binding rather than a vague "may be affecting your plan":
- on your Dashboard, as a single informational line inside the Next Workout card — the card is about a run, so the note reads as a note about that run: “Your recorded injury is limiting your plan: No speed sessions, Runs capped at 24 minutes”, with a link to adjust it;
- in the Calendar header, as a box with the same bindings, whenever there is no next-workout card to put them in — which is the case while your plan is paused;
- in run emails, alongside the plan notices.
While a banner already names the injury — because the plan is paused because of that injury — the constraint line steps back so you are not told the same thing three times on one page. Dismiss the banner and the line returns.
Note: unlike a note, the constraint line cannot be dismissed. The binding holds for as long as the injury is on record, so it stays until you clear it.
Recording, adjusting or clearing it
The pause and injury form is reached from the Calendar header, or from Training Settings — the same form for both:
- the button reads Pause training/injured? when nothing is recorded, Adjust training pause while your plan is paused, and Injury recorded - adjust when an injury is on record without a pause;
- it covers Pause training until, the injury details, the four constraints above, and Clear injury/illness, which removes both the injury and any pause date.
