What is the banner at the top of my Dashboard or Calendar?
Most of what TrainAsONE tells you is information: your plan, your notes, your predictions. Some things, though, need a decision from you — and a decision buried in a list of notes gets missed.
So a notice that needs action is shown as a banner at the top of the page, above the ordinary Training plan notes.
What a banner looks like
A banner carries three things:
- a headline stating the situation in a few words,
- a short explanation of what it means for your training,
- the action that resolves it.
Only one banner is shown at a time — the most important one — so two problems never compete for the same space.
The banners you may see
- Your training plan is suspended — we stopped building your plan because TrainAsONE had not been used for three weeks. The action is Resume training. See Why has my plan build been suspended?.
- Training paused (or Training paused because of an injury) — you set a pause until a date of your choosing, so there are no workouts until then. The actions are Start training now (restart from today) and Adjust start date (change or shorten the pause). See How do I pause my training plan?. If the pause was recorded because of an injury, the banner names the injury and offers Adjust pause or injury instead.
Dismissing a banner
The × in the corner hides the banner. It is not gone for ever, because the situation it describes has not changed:
- a suspended plan raises the banner again after two weeks if it is still suspended;
- a paused plan raises it again only when you change the pause date, so dismissing it once is enough for that pause.
Dismissing a banner only affects what you see on the website. Emails that already carry the notice — such as the email you receive after a run — are not affected.
How this differs from the notes
The Training plan notes box below still carries everything that is merely informational, such as an out-of-date weight or a race a long way off. Nothing there needs a decision, so nothing there interrupts you. If a note ever does need action, it is promoted to the banner instead of being shown twice.
Note: a banner is always about the state of your plan, never about a single workout. A day you want to change is still changed on the Calendar, with its padlock and quick actions.
