Computation Index

Computation Index

By Dr. Sean Radford 29th December 2023 (Updated 27th April 2026)

Computation Index is an advanced Training Setting that controls how the TrainAsONE AI balances the speed of generating your training plan against the depth and optimality of its calculations.

How it Works

Building a highly personalised, AI-driven training plan requires evaluating a multitude of possible workout permutations. The Computation Index tells the system how much computational effort to expend before finalising your schedule:

  • Lower values prioritise speed. Your plan will generate faster, which can be useful if you're making quick adjustments on the fly. The resulting plan remains highly tailored but might not explore every single marginal optimisation.
  • Higher values prioritise absolute optimality. The AI will spend more time exploring complex permutations to ensure your plan is as perfectly aligned with your goals and data as mathematically possible. Consequently, plan generation will take longer.

Recommendations

For the vast majority of users, we strongly recommend leaving the Computation Index at its default value. The default setting provides an excellent balance, delivering a highly optimised training schedule without undue waiting times.

You might consider adjusting this setting if:

  • You are experiencing consistently long plan build times and want to speed up the process (decrease the index).
  • You are entering the final, critical build phase for a high-priority "A" race and want to ensure no stone is left unturned in the algorithm's search for marginal gains (increase the index).

Where to find it

You can view and adjust your Computation Index by navigating to your Training Settings and expanding the Advanced Options section.
