Risk Tolerance is a user setting within TrainAsONE that dictates how aggressively the AI will structure your training progression. It allows you to balance the pursuit of rapid fitness gains against the statistical risk of injury.
By default, TrainAsONE balances these factors to provide an optimal and safe path to your goals. However, you can manually adjust this setting:
- Lower Risk Tolerance: The AI will prioritise safety and stability, resulting in a more conservative plan that ramps up volume and intensity more slowly. This is highly recommended if you are returning from an injury, prone to niggles, or simply prefer a gentler progression.
- Higher Risk Tolerance: The AI will allow for more rapid increases in training load. While this can theoretically lead to faster fitness gains, it inherently carries a higher risk of injury and overtraining. We generally advise athletes to keep this at its default level unless they are highly experienced and have a robust injury-free history.
You can find and adjust this setting by navigating to your Training Settings.
