How do I restart my training plan?

How do I restart my training plan?

After a break from running due to injury, illness, or other life events, it's common to wonder if you should 'restart' your plan.

With TrainAsONE, there is no need (or ability) to 'restart' your plan in the traditional sense. Your plan is a live, dynamic system that is always a reflection of your current fitness. Just as you can't go back in time and reset your body, you can't reset your plan. It always moves forward from where you are right now.

Instead of restarting, you should provide the AI with the right information so it can adjust your plan for a safe and effective return to running.

How to Adjust Your Plan After a Break

Here are the most important steps to take to ensure your plan adapts correctly:

  • Update Your Health Status: The first and most critical step after a break for injury or illness is to update your health details. You can add or adjust injury and illness information directly from your Dashboard. This gives the AI the context it needs to safely rebuild your plan for your return.

  • Review Your Goals: Check if your race goals are still realistic. You may need to adjust your target time, or even postpone/cancel a race to give yourself adequate time to rebuild your fitness.

  • Adjust Your Training Settings: Consider temporarily reducing your number of training days per week, or duration available to train, to ease back into your routine.

Once you've updated this information, simply follow the new plan that TrainAsONE generates. The AI will automatically and safely ramp up your training, ensuring you get back on track without taking on unnecessary risk.
