Your Training Day Rules let you set what each day of the week looks like — for example, a rest day on Monday, a Parkrun on Saturday, and a long run on Sunday. These are your weekday defaults, and they apply every week until you change them.
To edit your weekday defaults
- Go to your Training Settings (accessible from the main menu).
- Scroll to the Training Day Rules section.
-
For each day of the week, you can:
- Set a custom workout — Choose a specific workout type (e.g., Parkrun, speed session, recovery run) and configure its details (distance, duration, time of day, etc.).
- Let the AI plan — Leave the day for TrainAsONE to decide what's best based on your fitness, fatigue, and goals.
- Mark as a no-run day — Tell TrainAsONE you never run on this day of the week.
- Click Save to apply your changes.
Per-date overrides vs. weekday defaults
When you use the Skip or Let TrainAsONE plan this day buttons on the calendar or dashboard, you're creating a per-date override — it applies to one specific date only and does not change your weekday default. This is useful for one-off schedule changes.
If you find yourself overriding the same day every week, consider updating your weekday default instead.
Tip: When you open the Training Day Rules dialog from a day on the calendar (click the pencil icon), you'll see a banner at the bottom: "Adjust default values for each day of the week in your Training Settings" This reminds you that the dialog is editing a per-date override, not your weekly defaults.
Re-instating a custom workout
If you've previously removed a custom workout from a specific date, you can click "Re-instate custom workout" in the dialog — it will pre-fill the form with your weekday defaults, so you don't have to re-enter everything from scratch.
