How can I lock my training plan to prevent changes to my upcoming workouts?
Whilst one of the main benefits of TrainAsONE is that it automatically adjusts to your progress, there are times when (due to personal and work commitments, for instance) you would like parts of your plan not to change for a while. You do this by locking days in your plan.
Locking a single day
On your Training Calendar every day has a padlock: an open padlock (unlocked) on the left and a closed padlock (locked) on the right. Click the closed padlock to lock the day. A locked day is tinted, and its workout — or rest day — is held exactly as it is. The same padlock appears in the Next Workout card on your Dashboard, so you can hold your next session in one click.
See How do I lock a day in my training plan? for a step-by-step.
Locking a range of days (e.g. while you are away)
Open the padlock button in the Training Calendar toolbar and choose Lock days. You can lock the next N days or between two dates. Locking is additive, so you can lock several ranges without releasing the earlier ones.
See How do I lock or unlock a range of days at once?.
Always keeping the next few days locked
If you would rather keep “the next few days, always” fixed as your plan moves forward — for example through a taper — use a rolling lock. In the Lock days menu, choose Create a N day rolling lock and the window then moves with your plan automatically.
See What is a rolling lock and how do I release it?.
Unlocking
Open the Unlock days menu and release the days you want free again. Released days stay as they are until your next plan update, unless you also tick Rebuild my plan now to trigger an immediate rebuild.
Did you know? Locking does not rebuild your plan and changes nothing immediately — it simply takes effect the next time your plan updates.
Note: locking is not offered on a race day (the race owns the day) or on a day whose run is already behind you, and a day inside a rolling lock shows a read-only clock instead of a switch. See Can I lock a race day or a day in the past?.
N.B. For times where your plan has changed and you would like to revert to the / a previous version, please see our FAQ, 'Can I revert my training plan to an older version?'
